Undersea Critical Infrastructure mini course provides a comprehensive overview of undersea critical infrastructure (CI). It covers various aspects, including the principles and applications of undersea warfare (USW), submarine design and operation, and the roles of USW platforms. The course emphasises the importance of undersea CI, such as internet and telecommunication cables, power transmission lines, oil and gas production systems, and scientific research equipment. It highlights the strategic significance of undersea cables, which carry over 95% of international data, and the challenges in protecting them from threats.  

The course also discusses the legal frameworks applicable to undersea CI, including national and international laws, and the responsibilities of owners and operators. Additionally, it covers the different types of undersea platforms, such as submarines, remotely operated vehicles (ROVs), and autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs), and their roles in supporting CI. The course includes maps and diagrams to illustrate the locations and structures of undersea CI, as well as the deployment and support systems used in undersea operations.

This course is suitable for personnel that require an awareness of types of critical Undersea Infrastructure, and the techniques used to disrupt and also protect such systems.
