Application and enrolment
How do I enrol or apply to study a course?
You can enrol or apply online by filling in the online form on your course page. You can also call our Business Manager Kerry Houston on 0439 997 719.
What are the entry requirements for my course?
Our unclassified courses are available to participants with an Australian / New Zealand Citizenship or who hold an active AGSVA NV1 (or higher) security clearance.
Our classified courses are suitable for Australian / New Zealand Government personnel with an active AGSVA NV1 (or higher) security clearance and an established need-to-know. Those who work in the wider Defence industry wishing to attend must have an Australian / New Zealand Government sponsor (minimum APS6/O4) who can provide a recommendation of attendance and confirmation of the need-to-know.
How will my course be delivered?
Your course may be made up of face-to-face classroom study, simulation, cyber ranges and scenario-based workshops to enhance the understanding and application of operational concepts.
This will vary depending on your course. Your teaching team will provide you with all the specific details regarding your program.
What do I do if I can't attend a class?
If you can't attend a class because you are unwell, let your instructor know. If you are finding it difficult to maintain your study program, please contact your instructor to discuss your options.
Can I get a refund if I change my mind?

What courses do I need to have completed to enrol in the Add-on Simulation Workshop?
The Add-on Simulation Workshop is suitable for graduates of the Introduction to Electronic Warfare (EW) SC001, Introduction to Undersea Warfare (USW) SC002, Introduction to Defence Space Operations SC003 and Introduction to Maritime Operations SC004 courses.
Graduates must have completed their course within the last 24 months.

What courses use Command: PE simulation?
Introduction to Electronic Warfare (EW) SC001, Introduction to Undersea Warfare (USW) SC002, Introduction to Defence Space Operations SC003 and Introduction to Maritime Operations SC004 courses.
What are the differences between a Mini-Course and Short Course?
SOIO’s mini courses offer a dynamic introduction to the principles and practices of multi-domain operations. Usually delivered in a day, these courses are designed to be both accessible and adaptable.
Mini Courses can be integrated into an existing training program or delivered as a standalone module.
How can I provide feedback about the course?

How long has SOIO been around?
SOIO has been supporting Defence Capability through training since 2019 and has conducted over 200 courses and graduated over 2000 students.

SOIO also advises on aerospace, undersea/maritime warfare, electronic warfare and training, with years of experience in these areas.
