This course is to provide students with an understanding of the application of Electronic Warfare in relation to Electro-Optics systems, including lasers. It covers the principles of EO, specific EO systems used by the military and addresses the operational aspects of military EO systems.
Intended Audience
This course is suitable for personnel whose employment deals directly with military applications of EO.
Course Modules
- The principles and fundamental features of:
- Infra-Red (IR),
- Visual (Vis) and
- Ultra Violet (UV) radiation.
- The principles and techniques of the Electo-Optic domain as they relate to:
- Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance (ISR),
- Missile Guidance and
- Electronic Warfare (EW).
- The factors affecting signal propagation in the Electro-Optic domain.
- The different types of Electro-Optic systems and their Defence applications.
- The vulnerabilities and limitations of Electro-Optic systems.
- The effectiveness of Electro-Optic systems.
- The strategies for employing Electro-Optic technology in Defence operations.
